The stilt runner is a white bird with a long neck, a red head, and a pointed black beak. As it wades through the water, it appears to be an ordinary bird until you notice that it seems to continue walking on the bottom despite the increasing depth of the water. The creature has legs that are equipped with several joints. The areas between the joints can adjust to the depth of the water by growing or shrinking as needed. In this way, the stilt runner has a flexible height between 2 to 5 feet.
